Frequently asked questions

How do I scan a folder?

Launch Disk Prism, click Choose Folder, pick a folder or volume, and wait for the scan to finish. You can then switch views without rescanning.

Why does macOS ask for folder permission?

Disk Prism is sandboxed for Mac App Store security. It can only read folders you explicitly select. If cleanup cannot move an item to Trash, the App may ask you to grant access to the containing folder.

What is included in Disk Prism Pro?

The free app includes scanning, overview, and Folders, Sunburst, and Flame views. Disk Prism Pro unlocks Bubbles, Mind Map, Top Sizes, Age Map, Treemap, duplicate finder, snapshots, and cleanup.

How do I restore Disk Prism Pro?

Open Disk Prism → menu bar View → Restore Purchases. Make sure you are signed into the same Apple ID used for the original purchase.

Does Disk Prism upload my files?

No. Scanning, hashing, snapshots, and cleanup happen locally on your Mac. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Is deleting through Cleanup permanent?

Items move to the Trash. You can recover them from Trash until you empty it. Disk Prism does not permanently erase files in the background.
